Encountering Whales on the St. Lawrence River
Come encounter the giants of the St. Lawrence River in one of the world’s best places for whale watching. Departing from Tadoussac or Les Escoumins, set out on an exceptional excursion along the river and discover fascinating marine wildlife in its natural habitat.
Whether in a Zodiac or on a boat, let the waves carry you along and keep your eyes peeled for the many species of whales that frequent the region. With a little luck, you may be able to spot beluga whales, blue whales, and other large marine mammals.
Accompanied by passionate naturalist guides, you’ll learn more about whales, their behavior, and their habitat. The guides will also help you better understand the richness of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park, a 1,245 km² marine protected area where the fresh waters of the Saguenay Fjord meet the saltwater of the St. Lawrence River.
