A spectacular hike in the heart of the Monts-Valin
In winter, Monts-Valin National Park is transformed into a veritable winter wonderland. The abundance of snow creates ideal conditions for snowshoeing and allows visitors to explore wild landscapes of exceptional beauty.
To enjoy this unique experience, hop aboard the Fantômes-Express shuttle for a ride of about 45 minutes along the Bras-des-Canots trail. This shuttle will take you to the foot of the famous Vallée des Fantômes, where your snowshoe hike will begin.
Once you’ve laced up your snowshoes, set out to conquer Pic Dubuc on a trail that’s about 3 km long. As you climb, you’ll pass through a spectacular winter landscape where snow-laden trees give the area a magical feel.
Once at the summit, take a moment to admire the exceptional panoramic view before you. You’ll be able to see Mount Valin to the north, while to the south lie the wooded hills of the foothills, the lowlands of the city of Saguenay, and, in the distance, the majestic Saguenay Fjord.
This excursion lets you explore one of the most iconic areas of the Monts-Valin and fully enjoy the untamed beauty of the Saguenay in winter.
Driving time from Cape Leste: about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
For more information on the conditions, access, and details of the hike, visit the Monts-Valin National Park website.
